MS Pipe & Fittings

ERW steel pipe is formed by rolling strip and welding the seam, with tighter dimensional tolerances and less weight. The weld seam is heat treated after welding that no untempered martensite remains, and the weld flash can be removed from both inner and outer surfaces. ASTM A53 ERW steel pipe is a typical carbon steel pipe. It is largely used to convey fluids at low / medium pressures such as oil, gas, steam, water, air and also for mechanical applications.

ASTM A53 ERW STEEL PIPE

Seamless steel pipe (SMLS) is formed by drawing a solid billet over a piercing rod to create the hollow shell, without welding or seam. It is suitable for bending and cutting. The advantage of seamless steel is the ability of withstanding higher pressure. ASTM A53 specification also covers seamless steel pipe. The pipe is intended for pressure and mechanical applications and is also acceptable for ordinary uses in oil, gas, steam, water and air lines. It is suitable for welding, bending and flanging.
